A Look Back at My Activism in 2021

It's time of the year to pull out this photo from 2017 again--and what a year!
We started the year of 2021 in the thick of COVID-related crisis, but I feel lucky to be in this with my fellow activists. Alongside them, this year I:

Continued breastfeeding activism work with API Breastfeeding TaskForce by serving on its steering committee, maintaining its social media accounts, and write most of the grants the TaskForce received this year, totally over $44,000.

Continued to speak up for lactating families by writing for San Diego County Breastfeeding Coalition and Shanghai's YiYin Birth and Lactation Institute. The most popular post for the SDCBC' blog this year is "Breastfeeding Contributes to the Survival of All." Th most popular post for YiYin's Weibo this year is "Is Breastmilk Free? No, Breastfeeding Comes With A Cost."

Participated in a project collaborated by UConn and NYCU on making lactation in quarantine more visible.

Organized and presented in two of U.S. Breastfeeding Committee's technical assistance sessions; presented in Reach Our Sister Everywhere (ROSE)'s Breastfeeding and Equity summit; presented in HealthConnect One's Lactation Across Borders panel discussion; spoke in UNC's Maternal Health Learning Center's Podcast: the fight for lactation rights.

Speak up against anti-Asian hate with World Moms Network.

Co-founded the first National AANHPI Breastfeeding Week

Cheers to have such great opportunities to serve! Thanks to everyone who is reading this year-in-review, let me wish you a prosperous 2022!
